Week 1 Understanding Media in The Digital Age An introduction to the importance of digital imaging in the media production, particularly suited for artistic critique, parody or satire of these arenas. This module will also look at the usage of digital imaging in many different arenas and its media and social functions. Course briefing

Week 3 The Digital Toolset An introduction to a range of digital toolset and input of digital work such as the usage of digital cameras, scanners, imaging software, printers and computers to explore the artistic potential of new imaging technology and solve visual problems. Students will learn how to bring together dissimilar elements to form powerful new imagery based on Lev Manovich’s principle of new media — modularity—variability
Lecture 2: Media Production & Practice
